SATES ČECHY s.r.o. was founded in 1998 in České Budějovice as a subsidiary of SATES MORAVA s.r.o., with the goal of providing comprehensive construction services, specifically focused on transport and civil engineering projects. Initially, the company operated from rented premises with minimal technical infrastructure, relying on support from its parent company. At that time, the company functioned primarily as a trading firm.

In 2002, under the leadership of managing director Ing. Ivo Šimek, the company relocated to rented premises in Telč and expanded its portfolio to include mining activities and operations carried out using mining methods. expanded its portfolio to include mining activities and operations carried out using mining methods. Our projects began to focus on stonemasonry and paving works. In 2003, we resumed production at the Sumrakov quarry, initially producing construction stone and granite paving blocks, later expanding to block quarryion, curbstone production, and other stone products. The company employed around 20 people at that time.

With the growing number of orders, the number of employees also increased and the turnover of SATES ČECHY s.r.o. gradually increased, which in 2006 was 55 million CZK. In 2007, our company bought the remaining company of ČMPK Hradec Králové. This made us the owner of the Ctětín and Leštinka quarries, the Prosetín stonemasonry facility and the marl quarry in Přibylov (Pardubice Region). This expansion required further investment and increased our staff to 50 employees. We also took over the Prague branch, previously operated by the parent company, and moved it to new office premises. The Prague branch focused on stonemasonry construction projects. From 2008 onward, our annual turnover exceeded CZK 100 million, prompting further demands on technical and administrative infrastructure, as well as larger facilities for equipment and maintenance. We invested in our own premises in the former ČSAD complex on Radkovská Street in Telč. Renovation of the administrative building and surrounding areas created a stable base for construction operations in the region.

The separation from the parent company SATES MORAVA s.r.o. in 2016 took place as a result of the reorganization of the entire holding of associated companies. The number of employees was around 80 and turnover stabilized at CZK 120 million. In the years 2014 – 2018, there was further technological development in the processing of granite cubes using splitting lines in the Sumrakov and Ctětín quarries. From 2018 to 2020, we exited the marl quarry in Přibylov and invested in new technologies at the Prosetín facility, including a wire saw, large-diameter circular saw, and a five-axis formatting saw, transitioning to digitalization and machine programming. Turnover exceeded 200 million CZK and the number of employees increased to 100. Between 2021 and 2024, we became part of a group of quarries and facilities owned by Průmysl kamene a.s., significantly expanding our production capacity and material portfolio. The number of employees exceeded 200 in the group with a turnover of around 500 million. Our ongoing mission is to continue developing and strengthening both SATES ČECHY s.r.o. and our entire industrial segment.
